Here is the legend of Oilfire:
As legend has it, during the oil boom of the early 1900s, the search for black gold was intense, both in Oklahoma and Texas. Just outside of Tulsa, in April, 1907, an independent wildcatter struck a gusher oil well and celebrations began.
After working the oil well for several months, tragedy struck when the areas first oil well gusher was hit by lightning. The sparks from the lightning strike resulted in a major fire that engulfed the oil well.
The oil fire from one of Oklahoma’s first oil well gushers was intense and burned continuously for weeks. However, the oil fire was eventually put out by volunteers from Tulsa and all surrounding areas.
As a thank you to the volunteers, the wildcatter planned a celebration. All he had on hand was water, rye whiskey, some cinnamon, and the last batch of his family’s secret liqueur sauce, so he decided to blend them together and serve the people.
They, enthusiastically, enjoyed the spirit. During the celebration, many, from Tulsa and the surrounding area found the love of their life that night. The mythical legend of that spirit is now the OILFIRE Whiskey, America’s First Seductive Spirit, which we enjoy today.
